Executive summary
This year’s report draws on incident data submitted by CSAFI members across five continents. The headline finding is stark: reported ransomware attempts against food producers rose sharply, and operational-technology systems were involved in a growing share of them.
Yet the report is not only a catalogue of threats. It documents a maturing defensive posture — more members running tabletop exercises, more segmentation between IT and OT, and a marked rise in incident reporting itself.
The recommendations focus on the fundamentals that repeatedly separated a contained incident from a costly one: tested backups, network segmentation, and a rehearsed response plan.
